In todays time, some forms of exercise have become detrimental to health. A lot of people seem to take exercising to extremes that put excessive strain on their muscles in order to achieve the same results that could be obtained in a less damaging way.

Oxford Dictionary defines Pilates as: A system of exercises using special apparatus, designed to improve physical strength, flexibility, posture, and enhance mental awareness.

They are exactly right. Pilates safely provides an all around stronger and more sustainable foundation of strength and flexibility, that engages every muscle in the body. Pilates can range from strength training and flexibility using resistance springs in place of using free weights, as well as range of motion exercises and the use of isometric contractions which is holding a part of the body in an unmoving, constant contraction that builds the true strength of a muscle.

At Jupiter Massage & Pilates we offer training of all kinds from beginner to expert and we utilize all of our exercise equipment to get you where to you want be. We have 30 minute and 60 minute private pilates sessions but we also offer group classes for the more experienced clients who want to come in and work on their own as well as with others in a group class setting.
