Hot Stone Massage

What is Hot Stone Massage? Hot stone massage incorporates heated stones as part of the therapy.  The therapist will uses the smooth stones as either an extension of their hands or by placing them on the body.  The stones are typically very smooth-surfaced basalt stones, in which the high iron content in basalt helps the stones retain heat during the massage. The heat can be both deeply relaxing and help to warm up tight muscles that will allow the therapist to work more deeply, more quickly and with less pressure. What Happens During a Hot Stone Massage? Muscle Relaxation The heat from the stones helps your muscles relax, allowing the massage therapist to manipulate your deep tissues more effectively. 5 tips for a healthier life

This is a fantastic article written and published by Monique Tello. All credit and research goes to her.  Researchers from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health conducted a massive study of the impact of health habits on life expectancy, using data from the well-known Nurses’ Health Study (NHS) and the Health Professionals Follow-up Study (HPFS). This means that they had data on a huge number of people over a very long period of time. The NHS included over 78,000 women and followed them from 1980 to 2014. The HPFS included over 40,000 men and followed them from 1986 to 2014. This is over 120,000 participants, 34 years of data for women, and 28 years of data for men. The researchers looked at NHS and HPFS data on diet, physical activity, body weight, smoking, and alcohol consumption that had been collected from regularly administered, validated questionnaires. What is a healthy lifestyle, exactly? These five areas were chosen because prior studies have shown them to have a

Our feet, which bear the weight of the whole body, allow locomotion and do a lot of work. Still, they are the least pampered part of the body. To pamper your feet and keep them strong and flexible, a daily foot massage for a few minutes is good option. Reflexology is an ancient healing practice based on the principle that there are reflex points on the feet that correspond to the body’s different organs and glands. Remember that human foot is an evolutionary marvel, capable of handling hundreds of tons of force and your weight in motion. It has 42 muscles, 26 bones, 33 joints, 250,000 sweat glands and at least 50 ligaments and tendons—plus almost 15,000 nerve endings! In reflexology pressure is applied to these reflexes on the feet, which promotes good health. Here are some health benefits of foot massage and reflexology: Improves blood circulation: Due to a sedentary lifestyle, many people don’t use their feet muscles properly, thus impeding good blood flow. Also, tight, poi
